Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We've got answers. Find everything you need to know about sizing, materials, care, and more below.
How do I find my size?

Most Born To Roam hats are built with an adjustable inner band for a fine-tuned fit. To find your size, measure the circumference of your head about one inch above your eyebrows and ears, where the hat will naturally sit. Use a soft measuring tape. The number in centimeters is your size.

Between sizes? Order down. The inner band gives you room to adjust up, not down. Detailed sizing guidance is available on our How To Measure page.

Will it fit my hair?

Yes. Every hat we make is designed to accommodate braids, twists, locs, weaves, and natural texture without compromise. The adjustable inner band moves with your style, and our linings are chosen to glide against your hair instead of catching it.

This is one of the reasons Born To Roam exists. Most luxury millinery wasn't built for our hair. Ours is.

When will my order arrive?

Orders are processed within 24 to 48 hours. Delivery time begins after processing.

Standard Shipping: 7 to 10 business days.
Priority Shipping: 1 to 2 business days.
Overnight Shipping: Same day (orders must be placed by 12pm PST).

Free shipping is included on US orders over $200. Tracking is emailed once your order ships. We currently ship within the United States only.

What is your return policy?

Returns are accepted on unworn items in original condition with original packaging. Items showing signs of wear will not be accepted. For damaged items, we provide a prepaid return label. Email hello@weareborntoroam.com within the return window to start the process.

We also recommend adding Route Shipping Insurance at checkout. It protects your order in the rare case a package goes missing in transit.

How do I care for my hat?

Treat it like the investment piece it is.

Spot clean only with a soft, dry brush or lint roller. For deeper marks, use a slightly damp cloth and let the hat air dry on a flat surface. Never machine wash. Never submerge.

Store flat or on a hat stand, away from direct sunlight and heat. A well-cared-for hat holds its shape, color, and structure for years. Detailed care guidance is available on our Hat Care page.

Where are your hats made?

Every hat is designed in Los Angeles and produced in small batches.
