THE NEW COLOR BLOCK
THE NEW COLOR BLOCK
Spring is finally here and we’re totally all about it. And what’s our new fling for the season? Color blocking, of course! One of our favorite outfit combos any time of the year, this trend is still going this season in both classic and all new ways.
Having a little difficulty implementing this trend in your everyday looks? Never fear – we’ve put together a few of our favorite ways to color block to help get you inspired to jump on this style.
THE CLASSIC COLOR BLOCK
If you’re new to the color blocking game or just looking for something easy to throw together, the tried-and-true color block is totally the way to do it.

Take it from style queen Shay Mitchell – you can totally color block without looking like you tried to. Simply pair together a pair matching boots and a top and add a contrasting pant for an easy recipe for the perfect model-off-duty color-blocking look.
THE POP OF COLOR-BLOCKING
Not sold on the full outfit color block? Try implementing it in small doses to work your way up to the real deal. This method of color blocking is one of the coolest ways to amp up your look for spring.

Influencer and model Isabella has the right idea here – and we’re not only talking about the pizza. We love her color-blocked sweater paired with a simple monochromatic top and pant set. It’s exactly what we’ve been dreaming of for spring!
THE UNEXPECTED COLOR BLOCK
If you’re looking for something a little more unique in the world of color blocking, try adding it in an unexpected place. Whether its through your accessories, shoes or something a little more daring, this is the perfect way to show off your unique sense of style.

We love this boho-inspired swimwear look from blogger Cristina for spring and summer. The cool combo of red and yellow with the pops of black make this two-piece perfect for throwing on our Wishlist this season.
GO BOLD OR GO HOME
Standard color blocking can quickly become a bit boring, especially if you’re used to living life a little more on the edgier side of things. Shake it up by blocking it out with unexpected color combinations.

Influencer and designer Sami Miro has all the right ideas with this super bold iteration. We are totally head over heels for the neon orange and snakeskin pink combination that she masterfully put together here. And those satin sock boots? The perfect unexpected addition.
THE TEXTURE BLOCK
Color blocking still not holding a lot of weight for you? Why not try out blocking some textures over patterns? This method is a little more subtle than the classic color block and is a great way to elevate any outfit.

Lifestyle blogger Michaela Jane has us totally swooning with this bold textured combination of hers. The snakeskin two-piece paired with the sheer lace bodysuit? Totally out of left field in an absolutely amazing way.
THE PATTERN BLOCK
Want to really make your outfit next level? Skip color blocking entirely and go for a pattern block. This is the ultimate way to add a unique twist to any look, by carefully pairing up patterned pieces for a truly head-turning outfit.

Celeb and designer Nicole Richie is the absolute queen of pattern blocking. And we’re totally bowing down to this iconic look from her House of Harlow collection. The combination of a vibrant floral with neutral black pieces is exactly what we need for an unexpectedly chic and edgy spring look.
