When you’re traveling for the summer and planning on hitting up a city, what you need to pack can totally change in the matter of a phone call. Rather than dressing for a sunny beach or planning your functional yet fashion-forward outfits for an outdoors adventure in the mountains, you need to consider what’s “in” in terms of local street style.
Just in case you’re not sure where to start, we’ve put together a list of our favorite street style moments of Summer 2018 so far. Read on for inspiration to get you insta-ready.
LOOK #1 – THE CLASSIC WHITE SUMMER DRESS
Don’t let the name “classic” fool you – this piece can be totally modern if you style it, correctly. Just like every woman needs a LBD (little black dress) in her rotation, the same applies for a good Spring/Summer white frock! Always a summer staple, the white dress is perfect for beating the heat that seems to build up in the cities and leaving you looking and feeling totally fresh.
We’re totally digging the edgy accessories influencer Ruta has thrown on with her boho-inspired white dress. It definitely takes this look up a notch and makes it photo-ready while you’re strolling the streets of any city.
LOOK #2 – THE 90’S MINI DRESS
If you really want a street style ready look, throw on the perfect 90’s throwback piece, the mini dress, and add a pair of white sneakers. For a true Summer 2018 update, make sure it’s a gorgeous floral pattern! Remember, style reinvents itself. (Within reason of course).
The florals may make style star Maria’s look a little more feminine, but the white high-tops with socks really take it to a whole new level of street style inspiration.
LOOK #3 – THE MATCHING TWO-PIECE SET
If you’re like us, packing things that coordinate when you’re going on a trip is a huge challenge. Skip the hassle with a matching two-piece set! You can, easily, dress these up or down, depending on the occasion.
Take it from this gorgeous babe, international supermodel Mirla Sousa – this two-piece set is the perfect way to beat the heat and still look great doing it, too! Not to mention, it's easy to pack.
LOOK #4 – THE BOLD MAXI DRESS
Perfect for the audacious women among us, a vividly colored maxi dress is the perfect way to stand out in a sea of tourists and locals when visiting your favorite city.
Influencer Jen Im does this perfectly, pairing a totally gorgeous sunny yellow color with a fabulous off-the-shoulder silhouette. Throw on a pair of heeled sandals and you’re definitely good to go.
LOOK #5 – THE CROP TOP AND SHORTS
If where you’re headed is in for a heat wave and you want to feel cool yet look totally hot, the perfect combo is always the crop top and shorts.
Brazilian model Gizele Oliveira really knows how to throw down this look. We love the combination of the bustier-like crop top with the belted jean cut-offs – so chic! Add in the edgy black boots and we’re totally sold. Naturally, if you're not feeling the boots a great slide or muled sandal would be amazing, as well.
LOOK #6 – THE OVERALLS
Not for the faint of heart, the overalls are the perfect get-noticed piece to pack for your next adventure in the city. These babies are perfect for those throw-on-and-go days when you don’t want to put a lot of thought into your look and still look totally amazing.
Influencer Gabriella has the right idea with this look, pairing her fitted overalls with a loose-fitting top for the perfect summery proportion play. And those sunnies? To die for. Who would've thought that overalls would be back on the scene? Either way, we are here for them!
OUTFIT #7 – THE SUMMERY ROMPER
If overalls aren’t really your cup of tea, why not try a playsuit or romper? They’re the perfect stylish way to keep cool and show off your legs, without having to coordinate a multitude of pieces in your outfit.
Trendsetter Danielle Bernstein is the ultimate chic street style inspiration in this blouson-inspired romper. Paired with her boho accessories and classic shoes, this piece is a showstopper for all of the right reasons.
