CHRISTMAS IS OVER - NOW WHAT?
CHRISTMAS IS OVER – NOW WHAT?
Christmas Day has finally come and gone, so now what? You’ve opened all your presents, attended 1,000 parties with your friends and family, and exhausted yourself mentally and physically over the past week. Time to recover before your epic NYE plans sneak up on you!
With these awkward days between Christmas and New Year’s, it’s tough to figure out what to do to keep yourself occupied and get back to normal before the start of the year. Here are our top 5 things to jump on before you run out of time to kick back and relax!
#1 – HIT UP THE POST CHRISTMAS SALES
If you were lucky enough to be blessed with a bunch of gift cards to your favorite stores over the holidays, time to get spending! There are a ton of shops out there running after-Christmas clearance sales, getting rid of all of those super cute sweaters and boots that you’ve been dying to get your hands on all season long.
If you’re feeling too tired to hit up the mall, try shopping online! Hit up your favorite websites and load up your cart. You’re bound to find that perfect little something you were secretly hoping to get for Christmas!
#2 – BUG YOUR FRIENDS
Post-Christmas is the perfect time to get all caught up with your favorite people that you don’t typically get to see on the day-to-day. Whether you traveled home for the holidays from college or had a holiday staycation, it’s time to get social.
You can totally reach out to your friends to catch a cute holiday movie or grab a cup (or five) of coffee during this awkward time – they’re probably feeling just as tired and bored as you!
#3 – GET OUT OF TOWN
If you feel like you absolutely need a change of scenery now that the festivities have finally died down, this is your time to shine! Post-holidays, everyone will be traveling home rather than to somewhere new and exciting. It’s the perfect time to indulge in a quick trip to the mountains to partake in winter sports or visit a friend who lives out of town.
#4 – INDULGE IN SOME SELF-CARE
You’ve spent all season worrying about getting that perfect gift for every single person on your list – now it’s time to take care of yourself. Take a day or two during this downtime to invest in a little R&R for yourself – grab a book, head to a spa for a facial, schedule a deep tissue massage. Whatever it takes to help you really kick back and relieve the stress that’s been building up for weeks (or months).
#5 – GET READY FOR THE NEW YEAR
If the holiday season has you feeling like you’re ready for a refresh, why not channel that energy into doing something productive at home? Get a jump start on your spring cleaning (and make room for all that new stuff you scored for the holidays) by tackling those problem areas in your home that just won’t get out of the back of your head.
By cleaning up your space, you’ll feel accomplished and totally ready to take on the New Year when it finally sneaks up on you in less than a week. Trust us – you’ll thank us later.
